Initial consultation
Your First Visit
How long will it take?
Your first visit will take 60 minutes. We like to be thorough in all aspects of our work, therefore, spending time in your first visit is important. We want to get to know you and make you feel welcome and not rushed.
What do I wear?
Please wear comfortable, stretchy, generous clothing. Depending on where your area of complaint is, it may be required for this to be visible during assessment. Gowns are available for modesty, if necessary.
What happens?
Your Chiropractor will go through a thorough medical history, a physical examination where orthopaedic, neurological and functional testing will take place (where applicable). This will allow your chiropractor to form a comprehensive diagnosis for your complaint and create a bespoke management plan to help.
You will then be given a report of findings where we will deliver our diagnosis, how we can best help including a bespoke management plan, tailored to your specific needs and preferences. We will also provide the opportunity for you to ask any questions - in fact we encourage those questions, as it is very much teamwork when looking to work together.
If we find at any point we cannot help, we will refer you to the correct care professional for further investigation.
In the event that any further tests or referrals are required, your chiropractor will communicate with your GP, with your consent, for this to be arranged.
Will I get treatment on my first visit?
We always aim to start light treatment on your first visit. However, if this is not appropriate after your thorough medical history and physical examination, then we will not start treatment until it is safe to do so. Your safety is our first priority.
